Ignacio Antoñanzas is Managing Partner, Founding Partner of Altamar Infraestructuras and Head of Altamar in Latin America. Ignacio Antoñanzas joined Altamar Capital Partners in 2015 to create a new division focused on investments in the infrastructure sector.

Prior to Altamar, he spent the previous eight years in Chile as General Manager for Latin America at ENDESA, S.A. and CEO of Enersis, S.A., managing the group in five countries (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Perú and Colombia) with 12,000 employees, 16,000 MW of power, 7 distribution companies and 14 million customers. During his tenure in Chile, the company’s EBITDA doubled from $2,300 million to $4,500 million. In 2013, he successfully executed the largest capital raising by an electric company in LatAm ($6,000 million) and in 2014, the acquisition of a 50% stake in Gas de Atacama, a 22% stake in Egedel and the acquisition of Coelce, which represented an additional 20% increase in the existing stake. Prior to his time in Chile, he was Deputy General Director of Strategy at ENDESA, coordinating investment banking activities during the public takeover of Endesa. Prior to this, he was General Manager of ENDESA’s Net Factory.
He was named International CEO of the Year by the Latin Trade Group in 2013.

He holds a degree in Mining Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, specialising in energy and fuels.
