Claudio Aguirre, Managing Partner and Chairman.

Claudio has developed a long professional career spanning more than 24 years in Corporate Finance before founding Altamar Capital Partners in 2004. During that time, he was the head of Spain for Chase Manhattan Bank and then Goldman Sachs Investment Banking, spanning from 1980 to 1994. From 1994 to 2003, he headed Investment Banking and Wealth Management Services for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at Merrill Lynch. As Merrill Lynch’s CEO for EMEA, he was responsible for Private Equity in the region. Additionally, he led the privatizations and takeover processes that took place in Spain during the 1990s, including, Telefónica, Repsol and Endesa, creating an important network of professional contacts in Europe and the United States.

Claudio has a degree in Economics and Business Studies from the Complutense University of Madrid, an MBA from the Madrid Business Institute, and an AMP from Harvard Business School. He is also a Registered Representative with the Financial Services Authority “FSA” of the United Kingdom, and Series 7 Series 63 Representative of the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) in New York. He is currently a Member of the International Advisory Board of Goldman Sachs & Co.
