On 18 June, AltamarCAM Partners hosted the eighth Global Private Asset Investment Day and the twentieth Annual Meeting of the AltamarCAM Partners Funds. Taking place at UZalacaín La Finca, the event engaged over 1,000 investors, both in person and online, as well as the company’s senior management.
Claudio Aguirre, AltamarCAM’s Executive Chairman, welcomed attendees and provided an overview of the company’s developments, positioning and key milestones for 2024 and 2025. This was followed by José Luis Molina, AltamarCAM’s Global CEO, who shared the firm’s perspective on the current landscape of the private asset markets.
Jim Strang, Chairman of HgT plc, Senior Advisor at Bain & Company and Professor at the London Business School, joined Pilar Junco, AltamarCAM’s Co-Chief Client Officer, to discuss the new cycle in the private asset management industry and the main trends shaping its evolution.
Miguel Zurita (Chief Investment Officer at AltamarCAM) and Álvaro González (Head of AltamarCAM Client Solutions) also took part, presenting recent developments in the company’s investment platform and highlighting its growth and the new opportunities available to investors in the current market environment.
Derek Snyder and Miguel Echenique, the firm’s Co-Heads of Private Equity, provided an analysis of current trends within this strategy. Finally, Marcel Rafart, a partner at Galdana Ventures, shared his views on the role of venture capital as a driver of innovation in a market that is beginning to regain momentum. Subsequently, José María Fernández and Rodrigo Echenique, Co-Heads of AltamarCAM Credit, examined the role of recurring profitability in this segment amid growth.
In the second half of the day, Antonio Villalba and Antonio Guinea, the co-heads of AltamarCAM Infrastructure, discussed the strategic importance of infrastructure and core assets in generating consistent returns. Carlos Esteban and Ramón Hermosilla, co-heads of AltamarCAM Real Estate, presented their perspective on the new real estate market cycle and their strategic positioning.
Later, Montserrat Vendrell and José María Fernández, Founding Partners of Aliath Bioventures, emphasised the importance of the life sciences sector in driving scientific progress in an evolving market.
Several speakers emphasised that, despite uncertainty and a slowdown in investment activity, demand for private assets continues to grow, particularly among individual investors seeking bespoke solutions.
Throughout the meeting, investment professionals emphasised that value creation will increasingly come from firms capable of identifying strategic sectors such as artificial intelligence, energy transition, digitalisation, logistics, innovative therapies and digital health technologies, as well as alternative financing options including loans and refinancing.
Paloma Ybarra, Global Co-Chief Client Officer, concluded the event by thanking attendees for their participation and stressing the importance of adapting the private asset industry to a more dynamic and flexible environment. In such an evolving landscape, the ability to innovate and respond swiftly to new market demands will be paramount.
